Surface Preparation

Our stationary yard equipment, plus our mobile units are the most practical and effective means of cleaning any surface. This is essential for good profiling and paint adhesion. Some of the abrasives we use are:

  • Sand
  • Star blast
  • Walnut
  • Wheat
  • Glass beads
  • Soda
  • Aluminum Oxide
  • Green Diamond

With proper notice we can dispatch our mobile units to any location our customer’s request. As well, we have a contained blast area in our yard to meet the customer’s needs. We also use specialized equipment for certain projects that may have environmental, safety or health concerns. Our personnel are trained, qualified, efficient, safe and properly instructed.

Turbine Blasting and Cleaning

We can improve turbine capacity by cleaning of the blades and disc with glass beads and aluminum oxide by our specially trained and experienced sandblasters. Steam turbines are used most often in industrial environments and ecological hydro-energy apparatuses that use boiling water to create either pressure or energy through the movement of the water. The optimum efficiency of these turbines are affected by several factors like local silica saturation, deposits of vaporization salts, impure water, and entrainment. According to studies although several factors influence the formation of deposits on turbine components, the general effect is the same no matter what the cause. Adherent deposits form in the steam passage, distorting the original shape of turbine nozzles and blades leading to corrosion fatigue and stress corrosion cracking of blades and discs. We have the experienced and qualified staff to bring back your turbine efficiencies.

Protective Coating

Whether in our facilities or at our customer job sites, our successful protective coating operations requires good planning, surface preparation, product selection and procedures. Protective coating has been an ongoing process with our company for many years, with overall emphasis on quality and cost control. We offer protective coatings on internal and external surfaces of tanks, vessels, and structural steel. We have qualified trained personnel to do the job. We have two NACE inspectors on staff.

We specialize in the blasting of concrete to expose the stone aggregate with no damage to the integrity of the concrete. We also correct many variations of surfaces to achieve a more uniform (even surface water run offs) and aesthetic surfaces.

Beautifying Surfaces

  • Light Exposure – The surface skin of the cement and sand is removed just sufficiently to expose the aggregate.
  • Medium Exposure – Further removal of the cement and sand to expose more aggregate.
  • Deep Exposure – Cement and fine aggregate are removed to a depth where the coarse aggregate becomes the dominant feature.
